Summary



Our Creative Assistant would work closely with all our creatives, including those who are learning disabled and neurodiverse, helping to provide equity through creative and organisational support.

The Creative Assistant will work with our learning disabled and neurodiverse creatives in their chosen artform a minimum of one day per week to develop their socially engaged work. They will work closely with and be mentored by the Creative Director.

The Creative Assistant will work flexibly with all people across the organisation, supporting and promoting Headway Arts events, attending external events, recruitment fairs and networks, liaising with carers, supporters and other organisations

Responsibilities



1. Working alongside the Creative Director to support an annual creative programme for learning disabled/neurodiverse participants

2. Working alongside the Creative Director to develop projects with other community groups from disadvantaged backgrounds

3. To work with the Support Worker to ensure everyone has full access to all activities and that:

o Safeguarding is always at the fore

o Health and safety checks and risk assessments are done

o Everyone's voice is heard

4. To let people know we are here! Create Social Media and publicity to show the work of learning disabled/neurodiverse artists to a wider audience.

5. Alongside participants and the Creative Director to develop creative projects and events which are fully inclusive (to show what we can do).

6. Work with both participants and external event organisers to be included in both new and already established mainstream events

7. Alongside the Creative Director, creating and distributing materials for events.

8. Promoting activities/ events to external networks.

9. Maintaining clear communication with participants of events, ensuring they have all the information they need before, during and after events to have a positive experience.

10. Creative workshops with learning disabled groups as and when necessary

27,000 per annum pro rata

Hours: Monday - Thursday 9:30am - 4:30pm although some evening/weekend work will be required to support events with time off in lieu given for hours worked.

Pay: 21,600.00 per year
