Role Purpose



The Creative Event Technology Specialist delivers innovative, reliable technical solutions that elevate live, hybrid and virtual event experiences

while

leading the technical preparation, maintenance and operational delivery of event equipment and systems. The role bridges

warehouse operations

,

technical production

, and

live event support

, ensuring all events are supplied with fully tested, compliant and fit?for?purpose technology. You will also contribute to the

design and development of new event concepts and products

, from prototype to delivery.

Key Responsibilities



1) Technical Operations & Inventory (Current RMS)



Prepare daily

load lists

in

Current RMS

, building jobs from scratch or via predefined kits. Maintain accurate

inventory records

, system housekeeping, labelling and stock control. Test, inspect, tag and

re?rack

AV and event equipment on return, ensuring completeness and readiness for redeployment. Keep documentation, asset histories and service intervals up to date.

2) Event Technology Design & Delivery



Design and deliver technical solutions for conferences, team?building, experiential activations and bespoke builds. Deploy and operate: PA systems, mixing desks, microphones; lighting fixtures and control; projectors and LED walls; video switchers and playback; cameras and live streaming/encoding; show control. Produce technical documentation (kit lists, cable plans, patch sheets) and ensure equipment is prepped, tested and show?ready.

3) Event Preparation (Technical & Non?Technical)



Specify, collate, test and

pack

all technical equipment required for events; manage licences/credits and software where applicable. Prepare non?technical kits (props, activations, inflatables, activities) ensuring all components and accessories are present. Support a wide range of formats (e.g.,

game shows, quizzes, inflatables, experiential activations, bespoke builds

).

4) IT & Device Management



Prepare and maintain

laptops and iPads

for events; install and configure required apps, presentations and software. Perform system updates, backups and general digital housekeeping; manage device pools and charging regimes.

5) Compliance, Testing & Repairs



Conduct and document

annual PAT

for all event electrical equipment; quarantine and track failures to resolution. Carry out remedial electrical repairs (cables, equipment, warehouse assets--and assist with vehicles where appropriate). Uphold GDPR, manufacturer guidelines and relevant standards; maintain safe electrical and rigging practices.

6) Logistics & Loading



Assist with

vehicle loading

during peak periods; load efficiently to maximise space and protect equipment. Ensure events you have prepared are loaded with all required items and documentation.

7) Live Event Operations & Training



Attend events as

technical support

(particularly for new or complex concepts); operate show?critical systems onsite. Provide training and guidance to Event Managers and event staff on safe, correct use of technology and kits. Support sales/client teams with

technical input

for feasibility, queries and post?event follow?up.

8) Innovation & New Product Development



Research, test and recommend new creative tools, software and hardware (projection, XR, interactivity, sensors, AR, digital scoring). Prototype and build new event products and effects; operate

CNC machinery

, wide?format printing and basic fabrication. Undertake

PLC programming, wiring, soldering, assembly and testing

as required; collaborate with Operations to pilot and roll out new ideas. and in the warehouse; report and mitigate hazards; participate in toolbox talks.

9) Systems, Docs & Continuous Improvement



Keep Current RMS data accurate (kits, accessories, test records, serials); create/maintain SOPs and checklists. Identify workflow improvements across prep, turnaround, and onsite delivery to increase reliability and reduce costs/downtime.

Skills & Experience



Essential



Strong background in

event technology / AV / live event production

. Hands?on technical skills:

wiring, soldering, fault finding and equipment repair

. Proficient with

Current RMS

(or similar inventory/asset systems). Solid working knowledge of audio, lighting and video systems and show control. Ability to read technical plans and produce clear kit lists/schematics. Excellent organisational skills and calm, methodical problem?solving under pressure. Full UK driving licence (multi?site travel and event logistics).

Desirable



Experience with

CNC machinery

,

PLC programming

and light fabrication. Familiarity with large?scale participatory/experiential events. Experience supporting concept development and

rapid prototyping

. Electrical testing knowledge (

PAT

) and safe rigging practices.

Tools & Platforms (advantageous)



Lighting:

DMX, Art?Net/sACN, MA/Chamsys/Avolites.

Audio:

Dante/audio networking, wireless coordination, digital mixers.

Video/Media:

Blackmagic/Roland switchers, LED processors, QLab etc...

Streaming:

Encoders, capture devices, hybrid platforms.

Productivity:

Current RMS, Office 365/Google Workspace, basic CAD/Vector for plans and CNC.
