WHAT YOU'LL DO
As part of XTG (Experience Technology Group), Technologists provide creative AV designs to enable experiential storytelling. This customer-facing, senior design role supports business development, leads pre-sales creative engineering and provides on-going post-sales project support. The Technologist should be skilled in technology consulting for both internal sales and customers, providing leadership in planning and budgeting. Responsibilities include creating system descriptions, block flow diagrams, estimating hours, highlighting logistical challenges for pricing, and preparing equipment lists for customer proposals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide creative technology and design leadership for XTG and their partners supporting the Dubai office.
Partner with XTG Business Development Team to build relationships within the experiential design community internationally
Work with the XTG Director of Strategic Partnerships to track new contacts and nurture existing partner relationships
Translate customer requirements into creative visioning presentations and functional system designs
Communicate design intent with hand sketches, electronic drawings, renderings, diagrams, outlines, storyboards, and/or narratives
Contribute to the development of engineering and architectural (RCP/Floor Plan) drawings, calculations and facilitate coordination with disciplines and trades
Review pre-construction design and documentation
Assist with technical design pricing and identify any logistical challenges
Generate functional system descriptions and block diagrams
Provide engineering support to project installation team when needed
Serve as Customer liaison for engineering inquiries
Meet with vendors/prospective vendors to help evaluate products and identify new creative technologies
Post sales project consultation
Review and validate the work of Design Engineers
Travel to various job sites is required
Support of meetings outside of local time zones is required (up to 20 times per year)
Other duties assigned as needed
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Must Haves:
Excellent customer-facing and communications skills
Communicate and interact with internal employees, clients and colleagues in a professional and timely manner
Track record of designing and implementing experiential AV solutions
Ability to work and think creatively as well as independently and ensuring to meet deadlines and solving problems with a 'how can it be done' attitude
Ability to diagnose complex system problems
Support user acceptance testing
Advanced computer skills as required for the design configuration and operation of AV equipment
Ability to travel nationally and internationally is required
Previous work with consultancy, creative agency, production house or creative fabricator
At least 10 years of AV experience
Valid Driver's License and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets AVI-SPL driving standards
Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
Able to attend daily meetings and participate in project activities scheduled in Gulf Standard Time (GST) and attend periodic office meetings in Dubai.
Nice-to-Haves:
Formal education in Electronics or related field preferred
AVIXA CTS-D
A four-year degree or military experience may be considered in place of job experience. Formal education in Electronics or a related field is preferred.
Experienced with Google Sketchup Pro or comparable design software
Located in the Northeastern United States to support New York area projects
