We are a passionate, purpose-driven organisation committed to upskilling and supporting professionals working with vulnerable children and adults in care. Our mission is to equip care professionals with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to deliver exceptional care, ultimately transforming lives.
As a member of our team, your work will have real impact, not only within our organisation but also for the vulnerable individuals who rely on compassionate, well-trained care professionals.
The Role
We are looking for a Creative Director - Video & Content who can lead the full end-to-end production process, from creative direction and storytelling to filming, editing oversight, and on-camera presentation.
You'll manage the creative process across all video content, YouTube series, social media campaigns, brand storytelling, and promotional pieces, ensuring every video aligns with our mission, brand tone, and sector standards.
This role blends strategy, leadership, and hands-on creativity. You will direct shoots, brief editors, script ideas, and also appear on camera for educational or talking-head content.
You'll use AI tools to enhance production speed, ideation, and editing workflows, ensuring Vocational Training Hub's visual presence continues to set the standard in the training sector.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the creative direction for all video content across YouTube, social, and paid campaigns.
Oversee the full production process: concept, scripting, filming, editing, post-production, and publishing.
Present confidently on camera for thought-leadership, informational, and talking-head videos.
Direct and mentor the video editor, ensuring brand consistency, high engagement, and storytelling quality.
Plan and manage shoots (lighting, sound, framing, and set design) to ensure professional-quality production.
Use AI tools for ideation, workflow automation, and editing support to speed up production without losing quality.
Analyse performance metrics (views, retention, watch time, conversions) and continually improve creative output.
Collaborate with marketing, design, and SEO teams to ensure video content supports wider campaigns.
Stay up to date with social and YouTube trends, adapting creative strategy to match changing algorithms and audience behaviour.
Manage timelines, creative assets, and team resources to ensure smooth delivery of all video projects.
What We're Looking For
Proven experience leading video production or creative direction for a brand, agency, or content channel.
Comfortable both behind and in front of the camera (strong presentation and communication skills with a British accent).
Excellent understanding of storytelling, framing, lighting, and composition.
Deep experience with YouTube, TikTok, Instagram Reels, and LinkedIn content strategies.
Skilled in scripting, directing, and collaborating with editors and designers.
Working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.
Confident using AI tools for editing, ideation, and automation (e.g. Runway, Descript, OpusClip, Pika).
Data-driven mindset with the ability to interpret analytics to inform future creative decisions.
Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple video projects simultaneously.
Desirable Experience
Background in creative direction, film production, or brand storytelling.
Experience managing production budgets, freelancers, or creative contractors.
Strong thumbnail and title optimisation skills for YouTube and social media.
Familiarity with content within education, training, or social impact sectors.
Motion graphics or animation skills are a plus.
