Purpose of job

The Finance Team at Birketts is expanding its core team! We are seeking a newly created Credit Control Manager to come and join us in Ipswich.

The role is to support the Business Services team and wider firm with the oversight of the credit control function.
Accountabilities

  • Manage the credit control function
  • Use debtors reporting to effectively manage and chase aged debt
  • Oversee the sending of monthly credit control statements and reminder letters to clients
  • Provide regular progress reports to Financial Controller and Finance Director
  • Successfully resolve queries from fee earners, secretaries and clients regarding bills raised
  • Work effectively with the accounts team to allocate payments
  • Oversee the effective processing of credit card payments from clients
  • Identify and mitigate credit control risks
  • Take action on improving/enhancing existing systems and processes and driving improvements
  • Ensuring that own knowledge and skills are kept up-to-date and requesting training where necessary.
Qualifications/Experience
  • A-level or equivalent, including maths.
  • Proven experience of working in an Accounts department.
  • Supervisory experience.
Skills
  • Strong IT skills, including word and excel.
  • Good organisation and administrative skills.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively prioritise.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to influence and lead a team.
