Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a

Credit Controller

to join our Finance team in Aberdeen. This is a key role in ensuring effective financial transaction processing and supporting the delivery of timely financial management information and compliance. The successful candidate will play a vital part in improving cash flow and maintaining strong customer relationships.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:



Pursue customers for overdue payments using a professional and methodical approach. Resolve customer queries promptly, liaising with Account Managers and Operations as required. Proactively manage large value invoices to ensure timely payment. Review and maintain stop lists, letters, and statements. Assist with processing invoices, including milestones and self-billing accounts, and monitor customer portals. Assess creditworthiness of new accounts and monitor existing accounts. Support month-end reporting and performance measures for the Credit Control function. Maintain strong customer relationships and project a professional image at all times.

Essential Experience, Qualifications and Competencies:



Previous experience in credit control. Higher Grade qualifications or equivalent relevant experience. Computer literacy, particularly in Excel and Word. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Team player with a conscientious and reliable approach. Customer-focused mindset (internal and external).

Desirable Experience, Qualifications and Competencies:



HNC or higher qualification in Finance/Accounts or willingness to pursue relevant qualifications. Extensive experience in Finance/Accounts. Knowledge of VAT regulations and withholding tax requirements. Understanding of financial or ERP systems and basic accounting principles. Experience with Syspro and customer portals such as Ariba (training provided).

Technical Skills:



Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Ability to work with ERP systems and customer portals. Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

Soft Skills:



Excellent communication skills (phone and email). Positive attitude, patience, and persistence. Ability to prioritise and manage changing workloads. Team-oriented and adaptable.
