Credit Controller
to join our head office team.
The Role
Reporting directly to a Director, you will take ownership of the credit control function across a portfolio of shopping centres and retail assets. You will play a key role in managing tenant accounts, recovering rent and service charges, and working alongside centre management and finance to ensure efficient cash flow and debtor performance.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong credit control background. Experience in the property sector is preferred, particularly within commercial property, shopping centres or service charge billing but training will be provided for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the full credit control cycle for a portfolio of retail and shopping centre tenants
Proactively chase overdue accounts via phone and email, maintaining professional tenant relationships
Monitor aged debt, allocate payments, and prepare weekly and monthly arrears reports
Liaise with Centre Managers and the Finance team to resolve queries, disputes and payment plans
Work with external solicitors and enforcement when required to escalate arrears recovery
Maintain accurate tenant records and support monthly reconciliations
Assist with year-end service charge processes and tenant statements
Support continuous improvement of credit control processes, systems and reporting
About You
Previous credit control experience required (3+ years ideal)
Experience within property, commercial lettings, shopping centres or service charges is highly desirable
Sage 50
experience is essential
Strong communication skills with a confident and professional telephone manner
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple accounts
A proactive and firm but fair approach to collections and problem solving
Able to build strong internal and external relationships
