Active Flooring Solutions is a well-established, award-winning commercial flooring contractor operating nationwide across education, healthcare, commercial, residential, and hospitality sectors. We are looking to appoint an experienced Credit Controller to join our Finance team at our Liverpool office.
This is a key role focused on protecting cashflow, reducing aged debt, and supporting the wider finance function in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
The Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, your primary role will be to take ownership of the credit control function, managing customer accounts from invoicing through to collection. You will work closely with Project Managers and internal teams to resolve disputes efficiently and maintain strong customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Proactive daily credit control via phone and email to minimise overdue debt.
Accurate allocation of customer receipts and follow-up of missing remittances.
Raising invoices, applications, and credit notes.
Monitoring and chasing retention balances when due.
Producing debtor reports and supporting cashflow monitoring.
Escalating high-risk or non-paying accounts to the Finance Manager.
Supporting the wider finance team with administrative and reconciliation tasks as required, while progressively developing into additional areas once fully confident in the current role
About You
You have at least 2 years' experience within accounts.
You are confident communicating with customers and resolving payment issues professionally.
You are organised, detail-focused, and comfortable managing your own workload.
You have strong Excel skills and experience using Sage 50 (Eque2 experience is desirable).
AAT qualification or progress towards it would be an advantage.
An understanding of VAT rules applicable to the construction sector, including correct VAT treatment, reverse charge mechanisms, and CIS implications.
