Credit Controller - Based at Our Head Office in Frome

We are seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join our team at our Head Office in Frome. In this role, you will manage the company's credit policies and ensure the timely collection of outstanding debts, supporting the financial health of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

Accurately record, input, allocate, and scan cash received. Contact customers by phone and email to chase outstanding payments and negotiate earlier payment dates. Build strong relationships with customers and gain a clear understanding of their payment processes and cycles. Take a proactive approach to managing a portfolio of debtors. Perform daily and monthly reconciliations. Respond to complex queries and deliver excellent customer service. Review information relating to outstanding debt and work with the Financial Controller to resolve queries. Agree performance targets and work towards their successful achievement. Assist with month?end processes, including receipting, allocations, and reconciliations. Ensure timely collection of payments and implement effective collection procedures. Maintain accurate records of all credit transactions and analyse the credit control system to minimise bad debt. Communicate payment issues to management and recommend improvements where appropriate.

Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field is advantageous but not essential. Relevant experience will be considered in place of formal qualifications.

Experience Required:

Demonstrable experience in credit control, accounts receivable, or a similar financial role is essential.

Key Skills:

Proven experience in credit control. Strong numeracy and financial analysis skills. Confident communicator with effective negotiation abilities. Proficient in financial software and database systems. High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organisational capability. Ability to interpret financial data and make sound, informed decisions.
