Job Description


As a Credit Controller for our Debt Recovery client, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing the company\'s credit control operations. You will be responsible for monitoring and controlling the company\'s outstanding debts, ensuring timely payments from clients, and maintaining healthy cash flow. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with both internal teams and external clients.

Responsibilities:
1. Monitoring Accounts: Regularly review and analyze client accounts to identify overdue payments and potential credit risks.
2. Debt Recovery: Proactively communicate with clients via phone, email, and written correspondence to recover outstanding debts while maintaining a professional and respectful approach.
3. Payment Plans: Collaborate with clients to establish suitable payment plans for overdue accounts, taking into consideration their financial capabilities and the company\'s policies.
4. Dispute Resolution: Address any payment discrepancies or disputes by liaising with relevant departments and clients to achieve mutually beneficial resolutions.
5. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all communication and transactions related to debt collection efforts.
6. Reporting: Prepare regular reports on outstanding debts, payment progress, and recovery efforts for management review.
7. Collaboration: Work closely with the finance and legal teams to escalate complex cases and ensure proper legal actions are taken if necessary.
8. Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns regarding outstanding payments and debt recovery.
9. Process Improvement: Continuously identify areas for process improvement within the credit control function to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
10. Compliance: Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices related to debt collection and credit control.

Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Credit Controller or similar role, preferably in the financial services or debt recovery industry.
- Strong understanding of credit control principles, debt recovery techniques, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with clients and internal teams.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining records and documentation.
- Ability to handle challenging situations professionally and maintain a positive customer service attitude.
- Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for tracking, reporting, and communication.
- Knowledge of legal regulations and compliance related to debt collection is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
