Overview

Speedy Freight are seeking a Credit Controller who is responsible for managing customer accounts across both owned and franchise offices, ensuring that outstanding debt is collected within agreed timeframes. The role focuses on resolving queries promptly and accurately while building strong, collaborative relationships across the wider network to support effective cash collection and a positive customer experience.

Responsibilities

Monitor daily bank statements and allocate payments to ledger accounts Issue Stripe payment links and manage cash, credit notes, and write-offs Chase remittances and outstanding invoices via phone and email Manage the shared AR inbox, responding to queries within 24 working hours Provide invoices, statements, and PODs to customers as required Maintain and update shared AR tracking documents Liaise with franchisees on branch debt positions Monitor account balances, credit limits, and insurance cover Identify and escalate non-payment or high-risk accounts, including legal referrals Support insurance claims where necessary

Experience

A strong credit control background with proven results in reducing ledger debt (target 85% monthly) Confident use of TMS, Stripe, Microsoft Dynamics (Business Central), CreditSafe, and Excel Comfortable working with Microsoft Office, 3CX, and Microsoft Teams Strong communication skills, with confidence handling incoming calls and customer queries Analytical mindset, able to assess risk and make informed credit decisions High attention to detail, ensuring accurate and factual account notes after every contact A collaborative team player, providing ledger cover and contributing to team meetings Clear and consistent communicator, delivering daily updates to the Accounts Receivable Supervisor
