The Opportunity
As Credit Controller at Spectrum Storage Group, you'll play a key role in keeping our cashflow healthy and ensuring customers pay on time. You'll be responsible for reducing outstanding debt, processing invoices and payments, and recovering overdue balances -- all while maintaining strong relationships with our customers.
This role is ideal for a confident self-starter who enjoys variety, takes ownership, and communicates with ease. You'll work closely with our customer service, sales, and customer experience teams to ensure every customer interaction reflects our 5-star service standards. With visibility across multiple businesses and sites within the group, you'll be right at the heart of where finance meets customer relationships.

Hybrid working pattern - 4-5 days from the office and 1 day from home.
Salary: 30,000.00 - 32,000.00 per year
Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Account management: Maintain accurate records of customer payments, balances, and debt recovery activities.
Invoicing and reconciliation: Generate and send invoices, process incoming payments, and reconcile customer accounts.
Collections and recovery: Proactively chase overdue payments, negotiate payment plans, and manage escalations -- including legal proceedings where necessary.
Customer relationships: Build and maintain positive relationships with customers to support smooth account management and encourage timely payments.
Reporting: Prepare aged debtor reports, monitor account status, and provide regular forecasts of expected cash inflows to management.
Policies and procedures: Continuously drive improvements in the credit control processes to minimise financial risk and ensure consistency.
Problem-solving: Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies, disputes, and billing issues quickly and professionally.
Collaboration: Work with customer service and sales teams to train, support, and improve credit-related processes and communication.
What we're looking for
We're looking for someone who brings a mix of precision, initiative, and people skills to the role. You'll ideally have:
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
A working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
A proactive, solutions-focused mindset -- you take ownership and see things through.
A passion for delivering exceptional service and a clear understanding of what "great" looks like.
Someone who enjoys picking up the phone and calling customers and believes that an email will never be as useful as a call.
Excellent communication (spoken and written) and negotiation skills, with the ability to build trust and confidence with both customers and internal teams.
Confidence using, managing, and improving CRM and finance systems.
Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with multiple stakeholders.
