Role Purpose



We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Credit Controller to manage The Arch Company (TAC)'s in-house County Court Small Claims process. The primary focus of this role is to maximise debt recovery through Money Claims Online, reduce aged debt, and minimise bad debt write-offs.
You will play a key role in ensuring debt claims are effectively managed and reported to key stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities





Own and manage the day-to-day administration of all in-house Money Claims Online. Issue pre-protocol letters and submit Money Claims Online. Prepare and file all necessary court documents accurately and within prescribed deadlines, including claim forms, acknowledgments of service, and witness statements. Maintain and update the Debt Claims Tracker, providing regular status reports to the Senior Credit Controller. Monitor court hearing dates and ensure TAC's representation is arranged and prepared for court appearances or mediation sessions. Liaise with court officials to track case progress and resolve procedural queries. File court defences. Agree payment plans with customers. Initiate settlement negotiations and engage with courts, representing TAC at court or mediation meetings as required. Manage the enforcement of court judgments, including instructing bailiffs or applying for warrants of execution where necessary. Deliver monthly updates on collections performance, potential bad or doubtful debts, and prepare justifications for write-off authorisations. Target activities to maximise debt collection and reduce aged debt, including resolving account disputes. Assess cases for transfer to external legal partners when appropriate. Maintain detailed records of all court-related correspondence and documentation for audit and compliance purposes. Provide guidance and support to internal teams on small claims court procedures and timelines. Review and analyse court outcomes to inform future debt recovery strategies and improve processes. Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements related to small claims processing. Collaborate closely with Credit Controllers and Property Managers to resolve disputes efficiently.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Ability to prioritise a daily caseload and manage tasks to meet deadlines. Self-motivated, flexible, and quick to learn with a proactive approach to personal development. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels. Understanding of bad and doubtful debt procedures and their impact on accounts, with the ability to recommend and justify related actions. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
