We are seeking a proactive Credit Controller to join our Finance team in London (full-time). Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will manage debtor positions, ensure timely collection of premiums and receivables, maintain accurate records, and support the wider Finance team. This is a great opportunity to develop your credit control career in a collaborative, member-focused environment within the marine and professional indemnity mutual insurance sector.
You will join a wider Finance Operations team of 14 and collaborate closely with 3 other Credit Controllers to support the smooth functioning of the department.
Your Responsibilities
Debt Monitoring & Recovery: Review ageing reports, identify and chase overdue accounts, escalate problematic debts to the Underwriting team, and report on bad and doubtful debts.
Statement & Communication Management: Send Member and debtor statements, handle queries, liaise with brokers, and maintain positive internal and external relationships.
Cash Posting & Reconciliation: Post incoming funds promptly, allocate cash accurately, review and clear unallocated items, and reconcile receivables.
Brokerage & Payments: Liaise with brokers and prepare/process brokerage payments.
Reporting & Analysis: Produce and circulate debt-related reports and support the Finance team with ad-hoc projects and analysis.
Team Support: Collaborate closely with other Credit Controllers and the wider Finance and Underwriting teams, providing cover where needed.

About You
Knowledge/Experience
A minimum of 2 years of solid experience in credit control, accounts receivable, or billing.
Experience within financial or professional services is desirable.
Familiarity with accounting systems is advantageous (Oracle).
Qualifications/Education
Minimum education of A-Level or equivalent
Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills at an intermediate level (including pivot tables and formulae)
