You'll work closely with Sales, Customer Services, and the Credit Resolution Team to ensure timely collections and strong customer relationships, all while supporting the broader goals of financial health and operational excellence.
What you can expect to be getting up to as a Credit Controller
Proactively manage collections in line with the Company Credit Policy to minimize outstanding debts and queries.
Liaise with internal teams (Sales, Customer Services, and the Credit Resolution Team) to resolve invoice disputes or payment delays.
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to support on-time payments and resolve issues diplomatically.
Monitor aged debt and prepare regular reports for management, highlighting high-risk accounts or trends.
Support the Credit Manager with escalated queries, complaints, and reporting.
Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline processes.
Process and reconcile customer payments accurately, ensuring alignment with ledger balances.
Investigate and resolve unallocated cash, debit/credit notes, and payment discrepancies.
Assist with month-end closing activities, providing financial insight into outstanding debts.
Ensure customer records are accurate and up to date in ERP/CRM systems.
Collaborate with the wider finance team to support forecasting, cashflow analysis, and budgeting insights.
Stay informed of credit risk and support credit limit reviews and credit checks for new customers.
To set you up for success, we are looking for the following skills and experience:
Proven experience in Credit Control or a similar Finance role, with a track record of effective debt management.
High attention to detail and accuracy, with strong organisational skills.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
Strong Excel and general Microsoft Office skills.
Excellent communication skills--written, verbal, and interpersonal.
A process-driven mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
