We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Credit Controller to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the organisation's credit control processes, ensuring the timely collection of outstanding invoices, and maintaining healthy client relationships. Duties
Monitor and manage the organisation's accounts receivable ledger, ensuring prompt collection of overdue payments.
Contact clients via phone, email, or letter to follow up on outstanding debts and negotiate payment arrangements where necessary.
Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies efficiently to maintain accurate financial records.
Maintain detailed records of all collection activities and client communications.
Collaborate with the sales and finance teams to resolve billing issues and improve credit control procedures.
Prepare regular reports on debt recovery progress and outstanding balances for management review.
Utilise accounting software such as Sage, to update records and generate reports.
Assist with accounts payable tasks as required, supporting overall financial operations.
Experience
Proven experience in credit control or accounts receivable management within a similar environment.
Proficiency in accounting software, including Sage, is essential.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and credit management practices.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to negotiate effectively with clients.
Organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
