We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Credit Controller to join our finance team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in managing the company's credit control processes, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts while maintaining positive relationships with clients. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in accounting software.
Key responsibilities include:
Monitor and manage the accounts receivable ledger to ensure timely payments are received.
Analyse customer accounts and assess creditworthiness to minimise financial risk.
Conduct regular follow-ups with clients via phone and email to secure payments.
Maintain accurate records of all communications and transactions related to debt collection.
Collaborate with the accounts payable team to resolve discrepancies and ensure smooth financial operations.
Utilise accounting software for data entry and reporting purposes.
Provide excellent phone etiquette during client interactions, fostering a professional image of the company.
Prepare reports on outstanding debts and present findings to management.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Finance Manager.
We're looking for someone who:
Proven experience in credit control or a similar financial role is preferred.
Has experience with Sage (essential); familiarity with Uptick (desirable).
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data effectively.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills for effective client interaction.
Experience in customer service is advantageous.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.
