We are a niche credit hire company seeking to appoint an experienced credit hire litigator to manage our litigation process and performance of our panel solicitors. Working in conjunction with our busy in-house recoveries team, the role involves the negotiation and settlement of litigated credit hire invoices with at-fault insurers, following non-fault motor traffic accidents. You will be responsible for overseeing the performance of our panel solicitors including reviewing files and preparing detailed litigation instructions, working closely with the solicitors, clients and brokers to prepare claims for litigation, assist with disclosure and witness statements, preparation for trial and oversee progression of claims through to settlement.
The ideal candidate will be a experienced file handler dealing with pre and post litigated caseload of credit hire claims, from inception to completion. Experience of handling Fast-Track claims is desirable but not essential
Main responsibilities:
*Instruct and monitor panel solicitors to ensure claims are issued and progressed in line with service level requirements.
*Liaise with all parties to ensure disclosure and witness statements are prepared in accordance with Court Directions.
*Monitor and report on all claims listed for trial.
To apply a structured approach to case diary management - ensure all claims are progressing and within the correct status to enable accurate monitoring and reporting.
Review evidence and identify any potential issues in the recovery of hire charges or costs.
Ensure that all required documentation for settlement of a claim is gathered in a timely manner.
Work towards company and individual targets
Adherence to H&S and HR policies and procedures
Application of relevant case law and credit hire principles in order to settle cases
*Work collaboratively with colleagues in the recoveries team, brokers and solicitors
What you need to work for us:
Previous RTA and credit hire litigation experience
Knowledge of credit hire case law, pre-action protocols and Civil Procedure rules.
Good Level of education - at least to A-level or equivalent
Customer Service Experience
Good communication skills that can be applied written and verbally
Knowledge of MS Office
Strong Negotiation skills
Effective diary management
Hours of work
- Monday to Friday - Full Time working hours. Hybrid work pattern preferred but option to work remotely once training completed.
