Job Summary


We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Credit Manager to oversee the organisation's credit operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing credit policies, assessing creditworthiness, and ensuring timely collection of outstanding payments. This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency with accounting software, and excellent communication abilities to maintain positive relationships with clients and internal teams. The successful applicant will contribute to the financial stability and growth of our organisation by effectively managing credit risk and streamlining credit processes.

Duties



Develop and implement credit policies aligned with organisational goals and regulatory requirements. Assess credit applications by analysing financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant data using software such as Sage, PeopleSoft, and QuickBooks. Monitor accounts receivable to ensure timely payments and follow up on overdue accounts through telemarketing or direct communication. Maintain accurate records of credit transactions, data entry, and account status updates within accounting systems. Collaborate with sales and finance teams to evaluate credit limits and approve or decline credit requests based on analysis. Manage accounts payable processes related to credit transactions, ensuring compliance with organisational policies. Conduct regular analysis of credit risk exposure and prepare reports for senior management. Handle phone etiquette professionally when communicating with clients regarding overdue payments or credit enquiries. Assist in training staff on the use of accounting software such as Sage, PeopleSoft, and other relevant tools to improve efficiency. Support the organisation's financial services by providing insights into customer payment behaviours and trends.

Skills



Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, and PeopleSoft. Strong data entry skills with high accuracy in maintaining financial records. Experience in managing accounts payable processes and credit assessments within financial services environments. Excellent analysis skills to evaluate financial data, credit reports, and risk factors effectively. Outstanding phone etiquette coupled with effective telemarketing skills for client communication regarding payments. Ability to utilise analysis tools for reporting purposes and making informed decisions on credit limits. Organised with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail. Good organisational skills complemented by a proactive approach to problem-solving within a fast-paced environment.
