BGC Partners / Cantor Fitzgerald require a credit analyst to undertake counterparty credit reviews on existing and new clients including recommendation of trading limits and internal ratings.
The role also includes servicing brokers and responding in a timely fashion to broker requests
Counterparties comprise a diverse range of entities including banks, hedge funds and investment managers. In order to meet the requirements of the role the credit analyst also require understanding of and to have had experience in various financial market products such as equities, fixed income, derivatives and structured products.
Key Responsibilities:
Completion of credit risk assessment reports for new client proposals including recommendation of trading limits
Ongoing risk analysis of the existing client portfolio and preparation of line review reports
Lead role in working with Risk IT to develop and enhance existing risk processes and on periodic generation and distribution of Broker Risk reports specific to Desk requirements
Lead role in the credit aspect review and enhancement of the firm's existing trading platforms and the onboarding of new electronic platforms
Limit monitoring including escalation of credit breaches or temporary limit requirements
Presentation at the credit committee meeting of client proposals that require discussion and assisting in the credit committee documentation process, sourcing research and industry material
Facilitate real time broker requests and produce one-off credit approvals in a timely manner
Corresponding to external clients in relation to information and documentation requests
Taking a lead role in new client set ups and maintenance of static data integrity
Keeping a high level global viewpoint of the market and alerting management of any events that may give rise to meaningful changes in credit files
Keeping on top of file and information management particularly in relation to email flow
Assisting the team by taking on ad-hoc projects as and when required.
Skills / competencies required:
Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, maths or related field
2-3 years credit risk and balance sheet experience are desired attributes, on the job training will be provided
The candidate must be a self-starter with ability and drive to learn quickly and work with minimum supervision
A willing team player with the ability to achieve goals by working efficiently with stakeholders
Ability to take ownership of the role, attention to detail
Confidence to liaise directly with our brokers as well as external clients and other industry participants
Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
The candidate would be expected to be able to work on more than one project at once
Ability to form sound judgments and recommendations required for the credit committee to make informed decisions.
Candidate should be Tech savvy
Robust, resilient and able to cope well under pressure.
