45,000 - 60,000 (DOE)

Senior Solicitor/Associate (5+ years PQE):

60,000 - 75,000 (DOE) + Competitive Bonus Scheme & Allowances*

They are now seeking a dedicated and experienced Duty Solicitor to join their thriving and supportive team.

The Role:

This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified Duty Solicitor to manage a varied and challenging caseload. You will be responsible for providing high-quality legal advice and representation to clients at police stations and magistrates' court hearings.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide 24/7 police station advice and representation as the Duty Solicitor or on a rota basis. Represent clients at magistrates' court hearings, including pleas, sentencing, and bail applications. Manage a diverse caseload of criminal matters, from summary-only to either-way offences. Advise clients meticulously from the initial instruction through to the conclusion of their case. Prepare thorough case plans, liaise with CPS, and instruct counsel where necessary. Maintain the highest standards of client care and case management in line with SRA principles.

The Ideal Candidate:

Essential:

A qualified solicitor or CILEX lawyer with a valid practising certificate.

Essential:

Must be a fully accredited Duty Solicitor with a valid DSS (Duty Solicitor Scheme) number. Proven experience in police station and magistrates' court advocacy. Excellent knowledge of criminal law and procedure. A strong, resilient advocate with exceptional client-facing and communication skills. Ability to work independently under pressure and as part of a dedicated team. Committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for clients.
