Role Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented
Criminal Paralegal
to join our legal team. The successful candidate will support solicitors and barristers in preparing cases, managing documentation, liaising with clients, and providing general legal support. This role is ideal for candidates who have completed or are completing the Bar course, with a keen interest in criminal law.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct legal research on criminal law issues and case precedents.
Draft legal documents, statements and court bundles.
Assist barristers and solicitors in trial preparation, including reviewing evidence.
Manage client communications and provide updates on case progress.
Liaise with courts, police, expert witnesses, and other stakeholders.
Maintain and organise case files, both physical and digital.
Monitor case deadlines and ensure timely submission of documents.
Assist with advocacy preparation, including trial scheduling and witness briefings.
Essential Requirements
Completion of the
Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC)
or equivalent legal qualification.
Strong interest and knowledge of criminal law.
Previous experience in a criminal law environment preferred but not essential.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple cases simultaneously.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and case management software.
