Summary



The Crisis Manager will play a critical role in providing specialist intervention and support for children with complex health, social, emotional, and behavioural challenges. This role ensures that children receive stability, therapeutic care, and safeguarding in a short-to-medium placement setting, designed to help them transition into long-term solutions in line with the URCS build framework.

The Crisis Manager will lead emergency response efforts, oversee risk management, and ensure the highest standards of care in moments of intense crisis or transition. They will work closely with multi-agency teams, manage high-risk behaviours, and support staff in delivering
individualized interventions that promote emotional well-being and developmental progress.

This position requires strong leadership, resilience, and strategic oversight to maintain
compliance with Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015, URCS standards, health & safety laws, Working Together to Safeguard Children 2023, The Care Planning, Placement and Case Review (England) Regulations 2010, and The Children Act 1989 and its amendments, ensuring a safe and structured environment tailored to the unique needs of each child.

Key Responsibilities:



To Ensure the Overall Experiences and Progress of Children:



Ensure children receive stability, therapeutic care, and support tailored to their complex health, social, emotional, and behavioural needs. Assign each child a key worker who provides consistent advocacy, emotional support,
and individualized care.

Lead and manage the home to deliver the outcomes set in the home's statement of
purpose, ensuring children's long-term progress.

Oversee placements in line with The Care Planning, Placement and Case Review
(England) Regulations 2010, supporting transitions and case reviews.

Ensure the home is effectively meeting young people's overall plans and outcomes,
providing structured, tailored interventions.

To Ensure How Well Children Are Helped and Protected:



Maintain compliance with Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015, Working
Together to Safeguard Children 2023, and The Children Act 1989 and amendments.

Implement behavioural management strategies to support children in crisis and reduce risk factors. Conduct regular risk assessments, identifying potential dangers and implementing
preventative measures.

Ensure the home meets health & safety laws and adheres to building safety regulations to provide a secure living environment.

To Ensure the Effectiveness of Leaders and Managers:



Lead and manage the home in a way that is consistent with its ethos, maintaining a
structured, nurturing environment.o Provide staff training and mentorship, equipping them with crisis intervention techniques and safeguarding strategies.

Work collaboratively with social services, healthcare professionals, and law enforcement to ensure multi-agency coordination. Respond to Regulation 44 independent visitor reports, implementing recommendations to continuously improve service quality. Conduct monthly reviews of the home's overall performance, ensuring effective oversight and operational efficiency. Oversee the URCS framework implementation, integrating best practices into the daily structure of the home.

Essential:



Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or equivalent. Minimum 2 years' experience in a leadership role within children's residential care. Strong knowledge of Children's Homes Regulations 2015, implementing framework,
health & safety laws, Working Together to Safeguard Children 2023, The Care Planning,
Placement and Case Review (England) Regulations 2010, and The Children Act 1989 and its amendments.

Enhanced DBS check and verified references. Experience in crisis intervention and behavioural management. Understanding of research and developments in relation to the ways in which the needs of children are best met.

Desirable:



Additional training in trauma-informed care and mental health support. Experience working with multi-agency teams. First Aid and Physical Intervention Training. Driving licence
