We are seeking a highly skilled Critical Engineering Compliance Lead to provide functional leadership across the UK region for ISS, with a primary focus on supporting and embedding the OPTIMA Critical Environments Process.
Acting as the UK lead for compliance, administration, procedure adherence and audit functions, this role will ensure all governance standards are met in line with ISS UK Critical Lead direction.
You will drive operational excellence, working closely with Authorising Engineers, site teams, and contract stakeholders to maintain the highest standards of safety, compliance, and technical delivery.
This is a pivotal leadership role within the account, responsible for managing change control processes across GTIS and Hydra, supporting operational engineering teams, and ensuring the Optima Portal remains fully operational and effective.
As owner of the OPTIMA CEM product, you will lead by example, line manage a small team of Authorising Engineers and Technical Administrators, and provide guidance on safe systems of work, asset management and technical policy adherence.
With ISS well placed within engineering on the Account, this role offers the opportunity to further elevate performance and align with the new Global Engineering Lead.
Key Responsibilities
Act as functional lead for the OPTIMA Critical Environments Process within the UK region, ensuring compliance, administration, governance and audit requirements are consistently met.
Own the Change Management function across GTIS and Hydra, working with global and client stakeholders to meet requirements and drive process adherence.
Lead, mentor and manage a small team of Authorising Engineers and Technical Administrators, promoting best practice in critical environments.
Provide in-region management of the ISS Authorised Person process, including AE oversight, safe systems of work compliance, and training development.
Ensure the Optima Portal and supporting processes are maintained, fully operational and compliant with ISS standards.
Support operational engineering teams across the UK, ensuring technical standards, policies and procedures are consistently applied.
Provide in-region leadership of the Asset Management function, driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Promote and model strong Health & Safety practices, ensuring alignment with UK legislation and ISS standards.
Work closely with the ISS UK Critical Lead, Global Engineering Lead and client representatives to deliver account objectives.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
Strong background in Critical Engineering, ideally with experience in corporate head offices, data centres, or healthcare environments.
Operational engineering background, with preference for an electrical bias.
Experience managing engineering operations, including time in a critical engineering management capacity.
Proven leadership experience, with ability to manage and develop multi-disciplinary teams.
Experience leading an Asset Management function.
Strong working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation; NEBOSH or IOSH certification essential.
Degree or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline.
Proactive, organised and collaborative, with strong stakeholder management skills.
Full UK driving licence useful, as travel between sites is required.
