Role
We are recruiting for a Crown Court Coordinator
Qualifications/Skills
Education: 5 GCSE's (A-C) or an equivalent qualification, or relevant administrative experience. An NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration would be beneficial as would typing/audio typing qualifications.
IT skills: Strong proficiency in standard IT software and the ability to learn new, specific in-house systems quickly.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with a wide range of people.
Organisational skills: Strong organisational, prioritisation, and time-management skills to handle a variety of tasks, often under pressure.
Attention to detail: The ability to complete documentation accurately and efficiently, often under time-critical conditions.
No legal experience required.
Tasks
Court scheduling: Assisting our Solicitors with diarising hearings, arranging Counsel and ensuring the right paperwork is available for the Barrister ahead of court hearings.
Client care: Answering questions and handling enquiries from clients, legal professionals and the court via phone, in writing, or face-to-face. Arranging prison visits where required.
System and Record Maintenance/Diary Management: Updating computer systems/diaries with relevant case information.
Case and Document Management: Preparing files and papers for court hearings, drafting standard letters, and recording outcomes accurately ensuring files are maintained in accordance with our policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
Administrative support: Managing general office tasks such as post, photocopying, and filing.
