We are seeking a diligent and organised Crown Court Clerk to support the efficient operation of our Criminal Law Practice. The successful candidate must be able to work in a small friendly team and will be responsible for managing Crown Court documentation, assisting with administrative tasks, and providing excellent service to Clients and legal professionals. For this role the successful candidate MUST have prior experience of Criminal Law. Skills required are ability to work with all types of people as well as having skills in research, drafting, working to deadlines.
Duties
Prepare, file, and manage court documents with accuracy and attention to detail
Assist in scheduling court hearings and maintaining court calendars
Provide courteous customer service to Clients, legal representatives and the Court Staff
Record minutes of court proceedings and ensure all documentation is correctly logged
Respond to enquiries both in person and via telephone or email, providing clear and professional assistance
Maintain organised records in accordance with legal standards and confidentiality requirements
Support administrative functions such as data entry, photocopying, scanning, drafting documents and filing on electronic case management system and working on several different platforms
Ensure compliance with court policies and procedures at all times
Experience
Previous experience in Criminal Law
Strong analysis skills to interpret legal documents and procedures accurately
Proven customer service skills with an ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences
Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines
Familiarity with office software programmes such as MS Office (Word, Excel) and ability to work electronically with case management system
Ability to work accurately under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail
Police Station Accreditation is desirable
