WHAT IS THE ROLE?
A Customer Service Assistant - Yard Supervisor is a pivotal role in working alongside the Branch Manager, supervising the yard team to deliver an excellent customer experience to all customers who enter our yard. Within this role you will ensure your team are fully compliant with best practice Health and Safety processes, operating safely and efficiently whilst working towards branch sales and profit targets, ensuring future business growth.
Branch opening hours are Mon - Thurs 07.30 - 17.00 Fri 07.30 - 16.00 Sat 08.00 - 12.00 and we are flexible to consider a variety of working hours/patterns to suit your needs!
WHAT WILL I BE DOING?
Maintain a high standard of Health & Safety throughout the yard, completing all necessary daily, weekly, monthly checks.
Provide supervision and support to a dedicated team of yard staff, enabling them to deliver on our commitment of providing an excellent customer service experience.
Work collaboratively with the rest of the branch team to ensure efficient and effective branch operations to meet business & customer's needs
Deal with customers on a day-to-day basis in the yard, establishing long term relationships ensuring customers can access the full range of products for their project
Proactively increase sales and margin for the branch through role modelling great customer service, championing basic yard standards & ensure stock availability.
Preparing orders for collection & delivery and ensuring sales documentation is completed
Regulate stock levels in order to keep stock shrinkage to a minimum, provide accurate daily stock counts and ensure that all goods are correctly priced.
Ensuring goods inwards are checked and put away in the correct location
Plan lorry loads to ensure maximum weights are not exceeded.
Loading and unloading vehicles both manually and with a forklift truck
Any other duties as may be deemed necessary to ensure business objectives are met
WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?
Previous experience of people management/supervisory skills.
A good understanding of the customer service experience and know what great service looks, sounds and feels like.
Excellent communication skills.
A proactive and methodical approach with the ability to prioritise workload
Working knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety regulations.
Extensive experience of utilising a Forklift Truck
