Role and Responsibilities:



Please note this is a part time role (4 or 5 mornings per week) so would be pro rata salary, there may be future opportunities to increase the role to full time role if it suited the candidate and company.

Working as part of a six-person office team and liaising with factory production staff, you will be a key member of a small business helping ensure day to day business operations continue to our high standards.

Process UK and export customer sales orders (phone, email, Internet). After suitable product familiarisation time, providing advice and/or product recommendations. After-sales service including booking in returns/repairs and agreeing timeframes/costs with the factory and end customer (most will be friendly encounters; some can be challenging) Freight logistics - daily courier bookings for outgoing orders to UK, Europe and rest of the world, while optimising courier selection to ensure lowest costs. Small retail orders or servicing parts from stock which may be picked/packed/posted by you. Accurate stock management of raw materials and submission of timely purchase orders to suppliers to ensure continuity of critical items. Help maintain the company ISO certifications (Quality, Health & Safety, Environment) including monitoring daily output, measuring weekly energy usage, identify QC issues, internal and external non-conformances with suitable corrective actions.

Human resource matters Business process improvement and overall ISO management

Attributes:



Confident, professional manner when dealing with customers over telephone, email and in person. Strong literacy skills in writing customer emails. Familiar with Windows computer, fast/accurate data input and customer orders. Excel skills or Sage 50 accounts familiarity are a bonus, but in-house training will be given. Strong attention to detail and an enthusiastic 'can do' attitude. Prepared to apply equal effort to mundane daily tasks such as stock checks, customer repairs, picking/packing retail orders. Set own daily work agenda with the ability to multi-task when faced with numerous customer or internal staff requests for help and information. Recognise and prioritise business critical matters as they arise but ability to still complete necessary daily tasks.

Hours of Work:

16-20 per week, Monday-Friday mornings. 28 days pro rata holiday per year (2 week Christmas closedown, remaining days flexibly taken during the year).

Future year rises based on responsibilities and value added to the business.
