We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Food Preparation Worker to join our culinary team. Previous experience in a restaurant or kitchen setting is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and marinating food items Assist chefs with food preparation tasks as directed Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are maintained at all times Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area Follow recipes and portion control guidelines accurately Assist with serving food during busy periods, ensuring customer satisfaction Upsell menu items when appropriate to enhance the dining experience Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service

Qualifications

Previous experience in food preparation or a similar role within a restaurant environment is preferred Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices Basic culinary skills with an understanding of cooking techniques Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently Basic math skills for measuring ingredients and portioning dishes Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team A proactive attitude towards upselling menu items is advantageous Flexibility to work various shifts as required by the business needs
