Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Customs Agent to join our team at the Birmingham Bond facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with customs regulations and procedures, facilitating the efficient movement of goods, and supporting our clients in navigating customs requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Process and manage customs documentation for imports and exports, ensuring compliance with UK customs regulations. Liaise with customs authorities, clients, and logistics providers to resolve any issues related to shipments. Maintain accurate records of all customs transactions and provide timely reporting to management. Conduct customs compliance audits and assist in risk assessments to identify areas for improvement. Stay updated on changes in customs regulations, tariffs, and trade agreements. Provide guidance to clients regarding customs processes, duties, and tariffs. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of goods. Assist in training and mentoring junior team members on customs procedures and compliance.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in customs brokerage or compliance, preferably in a bond environment. Strong understanding of UK customs laws, regulations, and procedures. Proficiency in customs software and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
