The Opportunity
We're looking for a
Customs Compliance Manager
to lead and evolve our customs department into a world-class, 24/7 operation. This is more than just a regulatory role--it's about owning the full customs journey and embedding compliance into the heart of our fast-growing logistics business.
You'll report to our Operations Managers (Niko and Vaidas) and work closely with our Managing Director to shape strategy, implement systems, and lead a growing team.
What You'll Be Doing
Take full ownership of our customs department and its development
Lead, train, and support a growing customs team across GB imports/exports/transits
Ensure 100% compliance with HMRC and CDS, managing audits and SOPs
Use
Conex
(or similar systems) to create customs declarations and manage master data
Develop and maintain Excel templates for customs tracking and audit readiness
Oversee shift rotas and ensure 24/7 coverage and responsiveness
Liaise with HMRC and other authorities on complex customs matters
Act as the central figure in all customs decisions and strategy meetings
Support commercial and operations teams with customs solutions and training
Collaborate across departments to embed customs knowledge and streamline workflows
Contribute to long-term integration with air freight services
What You'll Need
4+ years in a customs role
Strong leadership capability with a hands-on, proactive mindset
In-depth knowledge of UK customs procedures, CDS, and HMRC systems
Experience using transport management and customs clearance software (ideally Conex)
Confident communicator able to explain complex regulations clearly
Strong Excel skills and familiarity with internal compliance tools
Experience leading or supporting 24/7 shift.
Having a get stuck in mindset and resolving problems head on.
