The Role
Due to a period of growth, we now have an exciting opportunity for a Customs Coordinator to join us and provide fundamental support to our growing team.
The successful candidate will play an important role in coordinating and organising customs documents to ensure the smooth movement of goods whilst ensuring compliance with customs regulations.
This position is 20 - 25 hours per week between Monday and Friday. We are open to being flexible on how these hours are worked for the right candidate
Core Responsibilities
Preparing and executing import/export customs documentation including declarations and clearances.
Act as the primary contact for hauliers and agents for custom clearance documentation.
Follow up with customers and forwarders to obtain required documentation in line with tight deadlines.
Responding to new and existing customer queries.
Ensure any issues/questions arising in relations to customs are dealt with in a timely manner.
Ensure documentation is executed with precision and efficiency.
Stay up to date with current legislation relevant for import and export documentation requirements to ensure compliance.
Expanding our Customs network to create new relationships and generating leads for future revenue
Essential Skills
Minimum 2 years experience within an administrative position
Customs clearance experience including processes, systems and HMRC regulations (desirable but not essential as full training will be provided)
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Strong time management, planning and organisation skills.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft office.
Good problem-solving ability.
Experience of working towards tight deadlines
Remuneration Package
Based on 25 hours per week: 15,000 - 16,875 [FTE 24,000 - 27,000] per annum depending on performance with an uncapped bonus scheme.
