WHAT'S THE ROLE?
Working within the Customs and Distribution team you will be supporting the Distribution team in all Supply Chain Execution activities related to Distribution Centre operations.
This role is fundamental to ensuring the business compliance with HM Revenue & Customs and applicable international trade regulations. Your role will ensure the shipment or receipt of goods to or from our international locations. By providing guidance and support to our third parties, your role is pivotal to Hilti GB supply of products.
This role is being offered as a fixed term contract until the end of September 2026.

WHAT DOES THE ROLE INVOLVE?
Drive the optimization and reduction of foreign trade costs in line with quality and productivity targets and assure the adherence to applicable customs, sanctions, import & export control regulations and trade compliance frameworks.
Analyze customs regulations and anticipate trends regarding foreign trade processes and systems in order to apply when necessary or beneficial.
Monitor regulatory developments and ensure timely adaptation of customs processes.
Drive the innovation of foreign trade systems and methods as well as the standardization and improvement of customs processes and Internal Compliance Programs (ICP).
Audit external suppliers to make sure the declarations submitted to the government are accurate and trade groups are being used accurately.
Submit declarations for goods moving from GB to Norther Ireland using Trader Support Service (TSS) portal.
Act as process owner and bridge between local/global stakeholders for customs-related topics.
Act as interface for warehousing operations including inbound, inventory management, outbound, reverse logistics, and administrative activities to ensure customer and business requirements are met.
Track, troubleshoot and handle complaints associated with transport operations and work closely with other departments (Customer Services, Sales, Material Management & Finance) to ensure better services to our customers.
Work on process improvement through lean management tools, adapting global standards/guidelines and solve root cause issues to achieve cost productivity, efficiencies, and/or service improvements.
Conduct necessary audits and checks for process compliance to ensure that risk mitigating controls are in place within all aspects of operations.
From a controlling aspect, ensure freight cost management and invoice control/audits.
Understand, interpret and communicate global KPIs and performance management reporting to all concerned stakeholders.
