Your Role

In this role, you will work as part of the Exception Management team, following defined processes and prioritising tasks in line with service level agreements. You'll monitor systems to identify, classify, and resolve exceptions, escalating complex issues when needed. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and root cause analysis will be key to driving preventative actions and continuous improvement. You'll report to the Imports, ETSF & Arrivals Lead, maintaining accurate records and supporting smooth, compliant operations.

Your Responsibilities

Identify exceptions in processes, systems, or transactions; monitor data to detect anomalies, analyse root causes, and prioritise based on severity and impact. Resolve exceptions efficiently and prevent recurrence by developing corrective actions and proposing long-term improvements. Support internal team audits to ensure compliance and act on audit feedback for consistency and improvement. Maintain effective communication and update stakeholders on exception status. Coordinate with relevant parties such as customers and hauliers as required. Accurately track, report, and maintain records of exceptions, resolutions, and trends. Support Lean principles to implement best practices and assist team members with exception handling and customs tasks. Work within defined processes and procedures, prioritising workload in line with goals and SLAs.

Your Skills and Experiences

Knowledge of Imports, ETSF, Arrivals, and various customs procedures, including amendments. Strong focus on customs compliance, root cause analysis, and corrective actions. Able to resolve escalations and handle complex issues quickly. Experience with Lean and driving continuous improvement. Skilled in reporting and using data for analysis and decisions. Excellent communication and stakeholder management. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and prioritisation. Flexible, accountable, and committed to customer service.
