About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated
Cypress Automation Engineer
to join our QA and engineering team. This role is open to candidates at all experience levels--from recent graduates with test automation fundamentals to seasoned automation engineers. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test suites using Cypress to ensure high-quality, reliable, and scalable software delivery.
This is a fully remote role available to candidates located anywhere in the UK.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using
Cypress
for web applications.
Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, and product teams to understand requirements and define test strategies.
Build and manage robust, reusable, and scalable automation frameworks.
Execute automated test suites, analyze results, and troubleshoot failures.
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
Perform functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing as needed.
Identify opportunities to improve automation coverage, efficiency, and stability.
Maintain documentation for test plans, test cases, and automation processes.
Contribute to quality best practices and champion automation across the team.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong hands-on experience with
Cypress
or solid understanding with willingness to learn (for junior candidates).
Proficiency in
JavaScript/TypeScript
for test automation.
Experience in UI testing, API testing, or end-to-end test automation.
Understanding of QA methodologies, SDLC, and agile development practices.
Familiarity with source control systems (e.g., Git).
Ability to troubleshoot automation issues and identify root causes.
Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps.
Knowledge of additional automation tools/frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Selenium, WebdriverIO).
Familiarity with REST API testing tools (Postman, SuperTest).
Experience with containerization (Docker) or cloud platforms.
Exposure to performance or security testing.
Knowledge of test management tools like JIRA, TestRail, or Zephyr.
