Damp Proofing Technician
to join our team.
Role Overview
As a Damp Proofing Technician, you will assist in delivering a wide range of remedial and preservation works, from modern damp proofing systems through to traditional heritage methods. This includes DPC injection, membrane installation, timber treatments, minor joinery and plastering, tanking systems, and assisting on heritage projects involving lime mortars, sympathetic repairs, and traditional construction methods.
Key Responsibilities
Install damp proofing systems including injection, membranes, MB2K/tanking, and preparation works.
Assist with basement waterproofing and cavity drainage membrane systems.
Carry out timber preservation works including woodworm treatment and wet/dry rot remedials.
Contribute to heritage restoration tasks including lime plastering prep, breathable finishes, and sensitive conservation work (training provided).
Basic joinery and plastering (boarding, stud work, bonding).
Operate power tools, application systems, and follow technical specifications.
Work independently and as part of a team, maintaining professional communication with clients and the office.
Ensure tidy, safe, and compliant working practices on all sites.
Requirements
Background in damp proofing, plastering, building maintenance, or a construction trade preferred (training provided).
Full UK driving licence essential.
Strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and ability to follow technical instructions.
Reliable, punctual, and takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Desirable Qualifications
PCA CSTDB / CSRT (advantage but not essential).
Experience with heritage buildings or lime-based materials.
SSSTS, first aid, or other construction certifications.
Experience with Remmers, Oldroyd, or other waterproofing systems.
