Our client is seeking a highly motivated multi-omics data analyst to play an integral role in a multi-disciplinary team focused on multi-omics data curation, process, and analyses. The successful applicant will also support omics model standardization project by developing automated data standardization and data upload/download methods.

Data Analyst II

$46 per hour with medical benefits included

6 month initial contract with possibility for extensions

Hybrid schedule 2 days remote (9 am - 5pm M-F)

Purpose:

The Genomics Research Center (GRC) Immunology Computational Biology Group performs computational research and provides data-driven insights for the immunology discovery and translational programs. Through our collaborations, we develop a mechanistic understanding of human autoimmune diseases primarily through the interrogation of complex multi-omics data sets. We also develop tools to intelligently integrate and analyze these multi-omics data sets for creating a comprehensive understanding of these diseases that will subsequently drive target identification and validation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Systematically annotate each dataset using controlled biological, disease or compound vocabularies.
  • Prepare each dataset by using data wrangling or data analysis tools or pipelines to generate normalized data matrices or intermediate analysis results.
  • Perform downstream analysis for the differential express genes (e.g. pathway/network analysis and upstream regulators in IPA)
  • Develop tools to automatically format/standardize -omics datasets
  • Develop functions to upload/download standardized -omics data to associated databases.
Years of experience/education and/or certifications required:
  • BS with 5-7, Masters with 3-5, PhD 0-3 experience
What are the top 3-5 skills requirements should this person have?
  • Multi-omics data analysis (e.g. microarray, RNASeq, single-cell)
  • Fluency in R language
  • Comfort with Linux environments
  • Basic statistics
  • SQL
