Job Description

Acorns Children's Hospice are now looking for a Lead Data Analyst to lead the development, delivery and maintenance of advanced reporting, analytics and data solutions that support Acorns strategic objectives. This includes taking ownership of reporting suites, designing and maintaining stored procedures and database processes, and providing technical guidance across the organisation. The Lead Data Analyst ensures high-quality insight, robust data governance and consistent technical standards to enhance decision-making and service delivery.

About the Role

At Acorns Children's Hospice we offer specialist palliative care and support for children and their families across the West Midlands. We are there wherever and whenever they need us, in the hospice, community and at home. Our aim at Acorns is to help families feel equipped to cope at every stage of their child's life with dedicated teams offering psychological, emotional and practical support.

As a Lead Data Analyst, you will:

Lead the design, development and improvement of reporting suites, dashboards and analytical tools. Create, optimise and maintain stored procedures, functions and database processes that extract, transform and update data within core systems. Establish and promote technical standards for SQL development, data modelling and reporting practices across the team. Manage end-to-end development of new data solutions, from requirements gathering to deployment and review Oversee regular data audits, cleansing activity and quality assurance processes Lead training sessions on reporting tools, SQL best practice and new data products. Support stakeholders in understanding data structures and how to interpret complex reporting.

Extensive experience writing advanced SQL queries and developing stored procedures Experience designing and delivering complex reports and reporting systems Experience working with multiple data sources and performing data extraction, transformation and analysis Experience delivering data development projects end-to-end

You need to be eligible to work in the UK to be considered for this role. We are committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults and therefore any successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check for children and will be asked to provide two satisfactory references.
