  • Salary: up to \xc2\xa350,000 dependent on experience + Comprehensive benefits package
  • Location: Southampton, Nelson or Hessle (minimum 3 days a week in office)
Role Overview The Data and Analytics Team is a new team at the heart of supporting Giacom\xe2\x80\x99s ambition to become a truly data driven business. Data needs to be treated as a valuable business asset and to do this we need to ensure we have a strong understanding of, and derive value from, our data to help achieve our business growth. Be that through reporting, insights and analytics or influencing our daily engagement with customers in the many ways that data can make possible. As a Data Analyst, you play a key role in achieving this vision. You will be responsible for making sure we have a strong understanding of our data and will become a trusted partner with other parts of the business through your proactive engagement and accurate interpretation of their challenges. You will provide valuable and actionable insight in support of those challenges and decision making in whatever form is most suitable. You will work to break down data silos and promote data sharing across the organization. Responsibilities & Accountabilities
  • Identifying and Gathering data from various sources, such as databases, spreadsheets, and external APIs.
  • Performing and supporting data cleansing activity, ideally at source to ensure data accuracy and consistency and thus trust in our data.
  • Either in response to a request or proactively identifying opportunities, applying statistical and analytical methods to examine data and uncover trends or patterns and conducting experiments and tests to validate hypotheses and draw conclusions.
  • Building statistical or machine learning models to make predictions or forecasts.
  • Communicating insights and recommendations to stakeholders presenting the Data and Information in whichever form is most appropriate in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Whenever processing data, ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations and maintaining the ethical use of that data.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s degree in a relevant field such as statistics, mathematics, computer science, or data science or proven experience in data analytics.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, and data analysis and visualisation tools including Power BI and Excel.
  • Experience with data cleaning, transformation, and visualization.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with large, complex datasets.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis methods and techniques and the curiosity to use them.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis and reporting
  • Strong communication skills to present findings and insights effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Experience with machine learning algorithms and techniques (preferred, not mandatory).
