Job Description

Data Analytics Engineer - Hello Vet

About the Role

We're looking for a proactive and people-focused Data Analytics Engineer to support our growing Hello Vet clinic network. This role sits at the intersection of clinical operations, growth, finance, and data engineering. You will deliver dashboards for our team and help evaluate critical business intelligence questions for our senior leadership. Ideal for someone passionate about problem-solving and operational excellence, this role offers an exciting opportunity to shape how our clinical teams adopt new tools and systems at scale.

As our Data Analytics Engineer, you'll act as the bridge between our technical capabilities and operational decision-making. You'll work closely with clinical leads, finance, and the wider leadership team to turn complex data into actionable insights. From designing robust data models in dbt to presenting intuitive dashboards in Looker Studio (Google Data Studio), your work will drive daily decisions and longer-term strategy across our clinic network.

You'll report jointly to our COO and VP of Data & Engineering, giving you visibility across both operational priorities and our data platform strategy.

This is a hands-on, cross-functional role for someone excited by the challenge of bringing clarity to messy or unstructured data. You'll thrive here if you're equally comfortable joining a conversation about clinical KPIs as you are building scalable data pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

Translate business questions into clear reporting briefs and analytics scopes Build and maintain production-grade dashboards in Looker Studio for internal teams Develop robust data models in dbt, connecting Firestore and other sources Work alongside our Engineering Lead to improve our analytics infrastructure Identify opportunities to automate reporting workflows and improve data quality Conduct ad hoc analyses to inform operational decisions or leadership queries Ensure data documentation, version control, and governance best practices Train and support clinical or operational stakeholders in using dashboards effectively

What We're Looking For

We're seeking someone who's both technically confident and curious about how a modern, tech-enabled veterinary practice operates. You'll need to be able to move quickly between tactical delivery and strategic thinking--one day iterating on a surgical booking dashboard, the next evaluating which data streams should inform our growth forecasts.

Why Join Us?

Purpose with impact: Your work directly improves how care is delivered to pets and their owners Modern tools: We use a modern data stack (Firestore, dbt, BigQuery, Looker Studio) and are investing in scalable architecture Flat structure: You'll work directly with founders and senior team members to influence real decisions Mission-driven team: We believe great care should be easy to access and emotionally intelligent--for pets, owners, and our own staff Growth & autonomy: You'll have the freedom to lead on data projects and shape how our data culture evolves
If you are passionate about working with data and have the skills necessary to thrive in this role, we encourage you to apply!
