Job Description

We are excited to announce a new position for data and equipment technician who's highly organised with strong IT skills and an interest in all things data.



The successful candidates will be responsible for ingesting and processing survey data from our Ecologists and managing the equipment needed to perform these surveys. They will also be responsible for the processing and archiving of data ensuring it is available to Ecologists as required by our clients for use in technical reports.



The role is office based in our Lockington Hall office (near Derby and Nottingham) and would form a part of our wider business support teams. Outside of the Ecology season, there will be some involvement assisting the IT team including further data management as necessary.



Typical duties may include:


Setup and maintenance of specialist survey equipment (Full training will be provided) Maintaining inventory of equipment Processing and logging of data collected on surveys Running auto species ID software on collected data Maintaining Excel workbooks and web apps pertaining to collected data Basic diagnostics of equipment - Using equipment logs to identify potential faults Ingesting data both at Lockington and remotely assisting our satellite offices Liaising with ecology and technical staff.

What we are looking for a candidate with:


Excellent organizational skills Ability to work towards flexible deadlines Strong IT skills, with experience of using Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with large dataset organization and management. The ability to work with and offer improvements to data collection workflows Strong communication skills working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Hours:




Salary: 24,000 per annum.



This role will be full time 35 hours per week in our Lockington Hall office on an initial 6 month fixed term contract. As you will be managing and ingesting data from physical media, this role will require 100% office attendance.
