Job Description

This is a key role at the heart of the school's academic life. Leading the end-to-end delivery of all internal and external examinations, ensuring every detail is handled with precision, professionalism, and full compliance with awarding body regulations.

You will oversee the invigilator team and work closely with colleagues across the academic and pastoral teams. Key responsibilities include scheduling examinations, processing results, timetabling access arrangements, managing data using systems such as iSAMS and internal tracking systems, and ensuring secure and compliant administration at all stages.

The position also encompasses the Cover Manager role and is therefore responsible for assigning supply teachers, internal staff, or cover supervisors to absent teachers' lessons.

Hours

:

0.8 over 5 days

Spring Term: 2 weeks (full time hours) to accommodate YR10 and YR11 mock examinations

Summer Term: 5 weeks (full time hours) to accommodate GCSE examinations

Summer Break: The week of the GCSE examination results (must include the Wednesday before the announcement for analysis, Thursday for secure release of the results and administration of post-results services)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:



The role will encompass three main areas:

Examinations



? Act as the named Examinations Officer for the school in accordance with JCQ and awarding body

? regulations.

? Prepare and publish examination timetables, liaising with the Assistant Head: Senior School and Assistant Head: Prep and Pre Prep and Heads of Department for accurate entries and access arrangements.

? Coordinate the secure storage, handling and distribution of examination papers, scripts, and stationery.

? Recruit, train and oversee the team of external examination invigilators, ensuring full compliance with JCQ expectations.

? Manage the setup of examination rooms, including resources, seating plans, registers and signage.

? Lead on the secure release of examination results, administration of post-results services (re-marks,

? appeals), and the distribution of certificates.

? Act as the point of contact for all stakeholders with examination-related queries, including pupils,

? parents, and staff.

? Keep up to date and implement updates from awarding organisations and JCQ guidance.

Data Management and Reporting



? Maintain and update the school's Management Information System (iSAMS), ensuring the accuracy of key pupil data including personal details, assessment data, destinations, and attendance.

? Coordinate the collection, input and validation of academic assessment data in line with the school's data calendar.

? Provide data summaries and reports to the Assistant Head: Senior School, Assistant Head: Prep and Pre Prep, SLT and Heads of Department for use in progress tracking and school improvement planning.

? Prepare statutory returns including performance tables and Key Stage assessments.

? Ensure examination and data procedures are compliant with current legislation, including GDPR and JCQ requirements.

? Support GDPR compliance by ensuring personal data is managed securely and ethically, and by reporting data breaches as required.

? Maintain auditable records in relation to pupil assessment and examination activity.

? Work with the Assistant Head: Senior School to ensure consistency of policy and process implementation across the School.

Cover Arrangements



? To manage teacher absences (planned and unplanned) to ensure lessons are covered.

? Ensure cover is allocated fairly and equitably among staff.

? For planned absences requesting cover work from the member of staff.

? Dissemination of cover to staff each day in a timely manner

Knowledge of database systems

Understanding JCQ compliance

Strong IT skills (MS Word, Excel)

Experience



Experience in database systems

Previous iSAMS experience desirable

Dissemination of data analysis

Qualifications



Educated to A level

Willingness to undergo appropriate training as requested
