Role description

Data Architect

UST are seeking an experienced Data Architect with strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to design and implement scalable data solutions.

About the role

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in data engineering, cloud data architecture, and ETL pipeline development, with a focus on enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes using GCP services such as Cloud Dataflow, Cloud Dataproc, and BigQuery.

Implement and optimize data storage solutions utilizing Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, and Cloud Spanner.

Develop and manage data lakes and data warehouses on GCP, ensuring high standards of data quality, availability, and security.

Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver efficient data access solutions.

Implement robust data governance and security controls to meet regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Automate data workflows and implement proactive monitoring and ing mechanisms for ETL pipelines and data platforms.

Share knowledge, mentor team members, and contribute to the development of reusable data integration patterns, frameworks, and best practices.

Required Skills & Experience:

+ 8+ years of experience in Data Architecture/Data Engineering roles.
+ Proven experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) data services.
+ Strong hands-on skills in ETL pipeline development, data modeling, and performance tuning.
+ Deep understanding of cloud-based data architecture, including data lakes and warehouses.
+ Proficient in SQL, Python, or Java for data transformation and workflow automation.
+ Familiarity with data governance, data security, and compliance standards.
+ Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
+ Experience working in an Agile or DevOps environment is a plus.
