Data Architect: Are you passionate about data and analytics? Do you have experience in designing and implementing data solutions for complex business problems? Do you want to work for a leading insurance company that values innovation and customer satisfaction?
If you answered yes to these questions, then we have an exciting opportunity for you! We are looking for a Data Architect to join our Enterprise Data Services team in Eastleigh.

A regular part of the working day will involve project-level work: collaborating with both business and technical colleagues to create high level design documents.
A significant area of focus will be Ageas\'s multi-year transformation project called \'Springboard\', which will implement a new core policy admin and billing systems across all product lines.
This data architect is required to oversee both the operational & analytical data design aspects of this key strategic project. There is also a requirement to manage/govern the output of contract data architects brought in for Springboard and other change projects.

Main Responsibilities as Data Architect:

\xc2\xb7 Provide technical leadership in Enterprise Data Services leadership and strategy meetings.

\xc2\xb7 Support the Head of Enterprise Data Services in driving the enterprise data strategy.

\xc2\xb7 Continual improvement of the enterprise data principles and blueprint designs.

\xc2\xb7 Maintain the enterprise data model.

\xc2\xb7 Participate in Solution Architecture Forum, helping to govern design or other projects and presenting own work for approval.

\xc2\xb7 Chair Springboard Data Design Forum

\xc2\xb7 Collaborate with the rest of the Springboard Architecture squad on overall solution design.

\xc2\xb7 Design and govern Central Data Platform data pipeline patterns.

\xc2\xb7 High-level ETL design/review.

\xc2\xb7 Collaborate on conceptual data modelling (dimensional)

\xc2\xb7 Review logical data models.

\xc2\xb7 Present designs to relevant governance forums as required.

\xc2\xb7 Participate relevant project ceremonies such as kick-off meetings and sprint reviews.

\xc2\xb7 Co-ordinate and collaborate with other teams in IT - particularly Business Architecture, System Architecture and InfoSec.

\xc2\xb7 Ensure that data management best practices are adhered to, in the areas of data security, data governance, data privacy and industry regulatory compliance.

To be successful in being considered for the Data Architect role you will need the following knowledge, skills and experience:

\xc2\xb7 Insurance / financial services domain knowledge.

\xc2\xb7 Expertise in at least two of these key technologies: Azure, Azure Data Lake, Databricks, Matillion, Snowflake and PowerBI.

\xc2\xb7 Event-driven architecture, including Lambda.

\xc2\xb7 Analytical system data architecture and ETL design experience.

\xc2\xb7 Sound understanding of dimensional data modelling.

\xc2\xb7 Experience in maintaining enterprise data models and data flow diagrams.

\xc2\xb7 Sound understanding of metadata management, information security and GDPR.

\xc2\xb7 Sound understanding of T-SQL, to converse efficiently with data engineers and modellers.

\xc2\xb7 Sound understanding of data science and machine learning principles.

\xc2\xb7 Sound understanding of data analysis, BI and data visualisation principles.

\xc2\xb7 TOGAF knowledge a desirable benefit.

\xc2\xb7 An ability and willingness to learn and develop new ways of working.

\xc2\xb7 Exceptional written and oral communication skills, which are essential for interacting with key stakeholders at all levels across the business.

\xc2\xb7 Experienced communicator with and facilitator of large groups.

\xc2\xb7 Ability to work as a part of a team and foster good working relationships internally and externally.

\xc2\xb7 Timely and open communicator and diplomatic when dealing with others.

\xc2\xb7 Has a customer-centric approach, building and maintaining effective and collaborative relationships with all stakeholders.

\xc2\xb7 Able to establish and maintain a high degree of customer / client / sponsor satisfaction and professionalism.

\xc2\xb7 Experience in large scale organisational change or transformation would be beneficial.

\xc2\xb7 Demonstrable passion for Agile and experience in Scrum.
