Duties

Install, terminate, and test fiber optic cables using splicing techniques to ensure high-quality connections and install, terminate and test copper cabling using relevant tools to a high standard Set up and configure network hardware including routers, switches, and Ethernet components for optimal network performance Perform cable routing, labeling, and management to maintain organized and accessible infrastructure Conduct routine inspections of cabling systems, identify issues, and perform repairs or replacements as needed Use hand tools such as punch down tools, battery drills and snips Fluke testing Collaborate with project managers and clients to ensure timely completion of installation projects while adhering to safety standards

Skills

Proven experience in field service roles involving telecommunication or data cabling installation Strong knowledge of fiber splicing techniques for both single-mode and multi-mode fibers Familiarity with network installation procedures involving Ethernet cabling and telephony systems Hands-on experience working with routers, switches, and other networking equipment is a nice to have Mechanical aptitude with the ability to use various hand tools effectively in tight spaces Ability to read technical diagrams, schematics, and mechanical drawings accurately Knowledge of telecommunication standards and best practices for cabling infrastructure Experience working with fluke DSX-5000 Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to maintenance and repair tasks
