About Us:

At Evans Data Services, we are a leader in delivering high-quality infrastructure solutions for commercial, industrial, and Large Domestic clients. We are currently seeking an experienced Cabling Engineer to join our growing team and support a range of exciting projects across South Wales and South West.

Role Summary:

As a Cabling Engineer, you'll be responsible for the installation, termination, testing, and maintenance of data and voice cabling systems. You'll work closely with project managers, IT teams, and other engineers to ensure efficient and secure cabling infrastructure that meets client needs and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, terminate, and test copper and fiber optic cabling systems

Diagnose and resolve cabling issues in both new and existing systems

Read and interpret blueprints, network diagrams, and technical documentation

Ensure compliance with health and safety standards on all job sites

Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used

Collaborate with other teams on project planning and execution

Requirements:

Proven experience in structured cabling installation (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, Fiber)

Knowledge of network architecture and IT infrastructure

Familiarity with cable testing equipment (e.g., Fluke and AEM testers)

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various sites

Manufacturers certifications (e.g., Excel, Connectix) are a plus
