Seeking an experienced Data Center Technician to provide on-demand, ticket-based hardware support. Responsibilities include physical installations, cable management, and troubleshooting across network and server environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Install and manage fiber, copper, and power cabling.
Perform rack and stack of network/server equipment.
Support planned maintenance, migrations, and hardware swaps.
Troubleshoot and replace failed components (e.g., line cards, cables, optics).
Conduct functional and failure testing, BER testing, and loopback verification.
Labeling, patching, asset tagging, and documentation.
Provide support remotely or onsite depending on task nature.
Break-Fix Support Tasks:
Clean, crimp, and test fiber/RJ45 cables.
Replace optical components and line cards.
Power cycle, reseat, or reboot hardware.
Assist in RMA processes and component diagnostics.
Preferred Skills:
Strong hands-on experience in data center/network infrastructure.
Familiarity with hardware from Nokia, Ciena, and ILA Hut sites.
Skilled in fiber/copper cable handling (including MPO fibers).
IMAC and break-fix proficiency.
Basic understanding of IT/networking and troubleshooting procedures.
