Job Purpose and Summary

Division overview:

The Digital Printing & Solutions (DP&S) Business Unit is responsible for the B2B Printing business from Canon in EMEA, with a focus on European countries. The business unit covers the full range of printing solutions, from SME and Enterprise office printing, professional printing, large format printing to very high volume production printing, including the related software and solutions. The DP&S BU generates close to \xe2\x82\xac3b Revenues.

Role overview:

We are expanding our business intelligence team and looking to hire a highly experienced and technical data modeller with a core understanding of financial data and reporting to develop the provision of key business reporting and insights and to support the implementation of tools for forecast, budgeting and reporting purposes.

You and the team will create necessary reports required to provide insights into the performance of the business across Europe (15 territories) and support effective decision making. We need to create a more robust reporting environment with more meaningful dashboards to our executive teams and their decision makers. You will also enable centralisation of financial reporting in the Business Unit and undertake other systems related projects as the reporting becomes more sophisticated.

We require someone with a strong finance background as the role deals with Financial Controllers, Finance Directors, Country Managers, Business Controllers etc across Europe and therefore understanding the context of the reporting is critical to those successful relationships.

What we ask

Responsibilities and tasks:

  • Delivering high quality data models and dashboard reporting in Hyperion / Essbase tools, automating and optimising reporting processes.
  • Create data visualisations to help executive teams understand key information and form logical decisions to drive value for the Business Unit.
  • Help define business and technical requirements to develop analytics capability e.g., data strategy and governance, data cleansing, data augmentation.
  • Help design and execute automated procedures interfacing with systems to report business analytics and interpret complex datasets.
  • Test reports and use problem solving skills to determine problems\xe2\x80\x99 root cause and suggest solutions using most appropriate IT tools.
  • Run reports in line with the pre-agreed schedule, check and distribute. Support development of DP&S budgets, mid-term plans and forecasts covering revenues, costs, headcount SGA, productivity and profit.
  • Best use of reporting tools (we use Essbase, Hyperion, Oracle Analytics) and help to define and support the implementation of new Oracle reporting tools
  • Prepare the Business Unit for the development and implementation of Oracle EPM Cloud and Data Lake strategy and support ad hoc IT / Data projects as and when required.
Required skills:
  • Any experience with Oracle Analytics, Hyperion, Essbase / Smart View / Python is highly desirable.
  • Core financial background with significant technical skills in dealing with complex data sets for reporting, enterprise platforms, data analytics and data management tools.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of financial reporting on a pan European basis.
  • Passion for process improvement and learning new software / systems as we develop our reporting environments and data strategy
  • Proactive approach, with strong analysis, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Advanced Excel and modelling skills.
