Our support encompasses key areas of data protection and cyber security, in addition to key certification and accreditation such as ISO 27001, SOC2 and Cyber Essentials.



As a Data Protection Advisor within Moore ClearComm, you will work alongside our team of experienced Data Protection Officers (DPOs) and Advisors, providing support and undertaking bespoke projects as directed.

This is an opportunity to work as part of a forward-thinking team, providing outsourced data protection support to clients from a variety of sectors, with scope for working with clients across 4 continents. Several of our DPOs are formerly of the Information Commissioners Office (ICO), which supports our advice and clients' best interests in relation to ICO responses to incidents - and enables our team to provide "best in class" support. In turn, this exposes members of our team to a unique blend of knowledge, experience and advisory/consultancy skills.

While this role is contractually "Hybrid", our Data Protection team works predominantly remote / from home - with office visits limited to no more than 2 per quarter, on average.

Our objective is to nurture and support development in new and emerging areas of data protection legislation and best practice, this includes access to training, development and recognised certification / accreditation where appropriate to the needs of the business and our clients.

Key Responsibilities





Help to build strong and lasting client relationships across different sectors and jurisdictions Assist and support DPOs by undertaking research and providing advice and guidance on best practice and legislative requirements of the UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018, the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) and other relevant legislation in different jurisdictions Assist in drafting and reviewing policies and procedures to support our clients Support DPOs working with clients on data strategies and the creation and management of records of processing activities (RoPAs) Advise and assist with Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) when required Prepare and deliver data protection training for clients annually or more frequently if required, and, where appropriate, more tailored training to suit client needs Assist DPOs who are advising clients on personal data breaches and data subject rights requests Assist and support DPOs who are undertake audits/gap analyses and reporting on outcomes, making recommendations and producing actions plans Assist with reviewing clients' data processing arrangements with suppliers/data processors Assist with reviewing clients' international transfer arrangements if required



You will also be responsible for:Assisting with stand-alone projects to fulfil the data protection compliance requirements of our clients Assisting with the client on-boarding process Undertaking research and monitoring data protection developments both in the UK and internationally Assisting with the creation of insights and documents as required, and to support the team in preparing for "live" events such as webinars and podcasts

It is essential that you understand the compliance requirements of all relevant legislation.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise



Essential Skills

Experience of working in a similar data protection role Detailed knowledge of the UK GDPR and associated legislation such as the Data Protection Act 2018 and PECR Excellent communication, verbal and written, and presentation skills, and an ability to translate complex information into "plain-language" Flexibility and ability to support cases across a wide range of data protection issues and jurisdictions Able to deliver high quality work at pace Strong team player with proactive attitude and a focus on delivery Able to work independently and use initiative Able to think logically with excellent analytical skills Able to handle conflicting deadlines to deliver on time and to the required standard Confident in using Microsoft applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)


Desired Skills

Experience of leading or working on projects Experience of managing data subject access requests (DSARs) Experience of personal data breach management Ability to work remotely and be self-organised Ability to develop own expertise and to commit to continuous improvement and development Familiarity with the use of CRM systems and project management software ie Trello/Jira etc
