Hybrid (mainly home-based with occasional travel to our Head Office in Birmingham)

The Role



As a Data Protection Assistant, you'll provide essential administrative and practical support to the Data Protection Team. You'll work closely with the Data Protection Manager and Executive, contributing to day-to-day operations, maintaining data records, assisting with documentation, and supporting projects across the business.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in data protection compliance, working with key stakeholders including Legal, IT Security, Risk and Compliance, HR, and more.

Key Responsibilities Include



Support the Data Protection Team with reporting, documentation, and third-party processor analysis. Assist with data subject rights requests (DSARs, erasures, etc.) under supervision. Maintain and update the Record of Processing Activities (ROPA) using Microsoft Lists. Help manage data breaches and support breach assessments. Administration of the data protection registers, templates, and internal tools. Monitor the data protection inbox and internal reporting channels. Communicate effectively with stakeholders and maintain accurate records.

Who We Are Looking For



Essential;



Previous experience within a Data Protection role Basic understanding of UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018. Experience handling confidential or sensitive information. Strong attention to detail and organisational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, SharePoint, Lists). Team-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills.

Desirable;



Working towards or interested in a Data Protection qualification (e.g CIPP/E). Experience in financial services
